This is now getting bad again!!!! Co-Op have just now told me they are rejecting my account after initially telling me I had been accepted and my account was going to be set up! I have been to Yorkshire Bank this morning and they have accepted me for their basic account. They were really nice and ha...

Thanks for your postive comments guys. It really does help when you've got people picking you up and reasuring you.
I will keep my appointment with Yorkshire Bank as I've got nothing to lose and with Andy's comment above sounds like great advice too.
Cheers

Question: Do you think it is worth opening a 2nd basic account? I have a meeting with Yorkshire Bank on Monday morning. Just thinking, I can then have a salary / bill account and then transfer any disposable income to my 2nd account for everyday spending. Just like I would if I was with Think Bankin...

Great news... Just spoke to Co-Op on the phone and they opened a Cashminder account for me in MINUTES! Great friendly customer service and no hassled or opinionated staff! I'm going to have to wait about 10 days before I get everything set up to go, but I can deal with that. At last a positive start...

I've just been reading a little about this. I've sent Andy an e-mail to suggest a meeting in the North West (my neck of the woods!)
Would be great to meet up with people in a similar situation.

I've now changed my Avatar to banging head. It's quite apt at the moment! It can change to a pretty landscape when I'm sorted out!
p.s. I'm so happy I have found this forum. We should arrange some local meet ups. How about a singles night! Actually, I can't afford to go out! hmm..................

Nationwide & Natwest are on my main list of creditors so they are a no no. I spoke to my IVA company today and they suggested that perhaps Lloyds were part of my other creditors (ie credit card / store card etc) that i wouldn't have known of. They said that the high street banks are often behind the...

Hi Everyone, Decided to give Lloyds ago this afternoon and i got REJECTED!!! They ran a credit check and it came back negative (obviously) but they wouldn't even offer me the cash account. I actually thought they were quite snotty with me and the lady not in so many words said that Lloyds must have ...

Well, I visted Lloyds & Yorkshire Bank this morning. Both seemed happy to offer me an account. I was leaning towards Lloyds until they told be i could only withdraw cash from their cash machines. I know I'm being fussy but that is a pain in the ass!!! If i'm travelling away, on a night out or in the...

Hi guys, I'm going to visit Lloyds TSB & Yorkshire Bank this morning. YB is favourable because you get the Meastro card, online banking (everything i'm used to) etc. Yet Lloyds TSB get good reviews on here. Seem to be growing as a bank (HBOS buy out) and could be a good bank to be with after I come ...
