In 5 years, the financial markets and the housing economy should recover to about 60% of what it was in 2007.Its true that House price tends to lag behind in recovery. But no one wants the turmoil to continue. Businesses cannot sustain itself in this state of no demand for goods and services and bur...

I Don't want to spoilt the party.....yes a couples success in overcoming the debt in IVA I am in agreement. The headline feat here is getting new borrowing....and at a good rate which is not currently the norm..... with the wife's good credit acting as almost the bond! If this was a film....the wife...

Your settlement for the IVA based on your share of the mortgage from what I recall, that's a bit of money you have forsaken. Not a lot of people will have the EQ to settle, you are lucky, but your home is technically your wifes's -A trade off.

You'll lose the use of the Connect visa debitcard. But not a great lost! Just make sure they don't charge interest on the DMP. Personally I don't like Barclays, they are in the 'high risk' category for HMRC for legalised Tax evasion costing depriving the country of much need income. My step Brother w...

If you have a Joint Mortgage and your wife was not on the IVA to begin with, I doubt you(the pair) would have a problem in getting a remortgage rate unless you were still paying the IVA at renewal period. I have read you post previously but only now know the other half was not on the IVA. You need t...

Nice points David,I am sadden to see these types of Insolvency cases as it goes beyond over doing the CC and the shopaholic syndrome. In 70s personal assets; unless one was a millionaire never reached those astonomical asset bubble levels. Now we have had property speculation balloned on 'red bull'. ...

To be on the safe side, I suggest you look at your credit file from all agencies just to 'admend the past behind'. Equafax,Credit Call as well as Experian will hold information about you and lenders can use one or the other in looking at your history.Experian tends to THE agency. These agencies are ...

32 properties?? That's excessive debt based leveraging or gearing and in boom times you would be laughing. And I am sure you would have gone to own 64 if the house price crash didn't occur. Like most businesses you have assets and liabilities but no cash flow to roll over your debts,or to refinance -...

Gord, One's credit file from Experian holds 36 months of information recorded by all institutions that you have made a payments to.O/D are recorded also. The perfect credit case - all green flag entries on a month to month basis, but even if you had a few ambers in there - late payments or No paymen...

MBNA have aways stressed protecting ones credit file, almost a fervent 'must do' in their correspondence with debtors and that is also seen extended in their DMP offers.I used to think it was just junk but now I give that thought some credence. I am positive with them on this respect. It is powerful ...

You have to hand it to MBNA,they are so redolent with any measure that maximise their interest. The favour they do for the debtor is to not ruin your credit file and your credit can technically continue as no adverse Credit file entry to say otherwise. Neat. But what about other creditors - will they...
