My IVA completed on 29th July and I'm keen to rebuild my credit rating. I know one of the best ways to do this is to obtain a card and use it sparingly and pay off monthly. I have just applied for a Vanquis card to do this as they are supposed to be easier to obtain. I was knocked back. When do you ...

Michael its a sole bank account now (my wifes) but the loan it services is joint. Its all very mysterious!

Will have to get the Mrs to ring the bank.

Hopefully its an unexpected windfall and not an error that needs to be repaid

My IVA was finalised recently. We have just recieved an amount into my wifes Natwest bank account (this was previously a our main joint account) which is only maintained to service a joint Natwest loan. This amount is marked on the statement as "Insolvency CMA" and it doesn't show the payer. Might t...

melstel it was a full and final for my overdraft, personal card debts and for my share of 2 joint loans with my wife. She is now maintaining those loans on a monthly basis until the remaining part is repaid. Took me a while to get my head round too! In a nutshell the cards have been wiped out and th...

[:D] Just recieved my letter and as of 29th July my IVA is complete. Not coming on here to brag but to share my experiences with those who feel like I did only 10 months ago. I was seriously in debt and the debt was increasing. My income had halved as a result of the collapse of the mortgage market ...

Nobody mentioned this until I queried my situation in March. There is no mention of any tax liability in my creditors listing. I think I was asked early in the process if any tax payment was due, and it wasn't. The only mention of tax in the proposal comes under a paragraph entitled "Trading": "Wher...

I have budgeted at about £3,000 but it may be double that. Looking over the paperwork there was no account taken of any tax liability. I didn't even see the relevance until well after the IVA was agreed, I raised the remortgage and paid money over to my IP. I won't name them as it's possible there w...

OH AND BY THE WAY a massive thank you to all who offerred advice and support on this site. I am sure I would have been looking at a DMP and 11 years (potentially) of pain without the advice I got freely and with empathy from all of you, instead I walk away with more potentially disposable income, a ...
