Hi, I just wondered if you are in an IVA agreement, are you allowed to put money aside for a holiday or would it be frowned upon by the IP?

I'm so glad I found this site, everyone has been so lovely and supportive. In reply to Vicki's question, the reason we're contacting our creditors is because we thought we should out of courtesy. It does say on most of our creditors statements/correspondence, if you have a problem please talk to us ...

Firstly apologies to Freelili, my intention wasn't to scare forum members, I'm just panicking and a bit distressed. Thank you all for your comments and support. I've spoken to Melanie's team and it appears that MBNA reps are on commission to retrieve money from debtors. With that in mind I'll try to...

Message for Fifi, please tell your husband not to contact MBNA if you don't want to ruin your night!! As predicted following my own conversation with MBNA this morning, my husband telephoned them this afternoon as he also has an account, again the representatives attitude was appalling, he commented...

Thanks Mel for the advice. The majority of documentation has been sent to Melanie and I'm e mailing copy letters to creditors as I'm dealing with them. One thing has alarmed me, is it true that CCCS don't recommend IVA's and if so, why wouldn't they?

Starting the ball rolling this week with our application for an IVA, with Melanie and her team, and up until now things haven't been too bad. Spoke to Barclays and Egg last night who were very understanding, then ..... aaaargggh! had the pleasure of speaking to a lovely gentleman from MBNA this morn...

Message for Fifi. You made me smile when you mentioned Lidls as I feel exactly the same! I'm a Tesco/Asda girl but have already mentioned to Tina, Melanie's colleague that I'll be giving Lidls a try to reduce the monthly spend. The problem with Tesco is I go in with the intention of spending say £50...
