Thanks for the replies. Although i'm quite happy with my step account, there are 2 main reasons i want a full account (an overdraft / loan certainly not being one of them - learnt that lesson !) 1) I'd like a cheque book. Although a lot of places don't accept cheques anymore, paying for things like ...

Hi, I went through a full and final IVA which completed in 2009 and since then i've been using a natwest step account as my main bank account. I'd quite like to upgrade this to a proper bank account with a cheque book but i was rejected from a natwest select account (even though they initially accep...

I'll contact Melanie and try to get it sorted. I know it'll stay on my record for 6 years but my concern is that it's still showing as ongoing. Not satisfied or completed. When i look up my details on the insolvency register that also shows it as ongoing when i've been informed it should be marked a...

Hi All, In 2009 my wife and I went through a full and final IVA. We received our certificated of completion on 25th August 2009. However, our credit files still show the IVA as ongoing and the Insolvency Register is also showing the status as “current”. I've contacted credit reference agencies who t...

Hi, I completed my full & final IVA back in 2009 and I am now in a position where i need a replacement car, mine has completely given up. Obviously my credit file is still destroyed though so regular loan companies won't touch me. Are there any companies you guys can recommend who deal with people i...

Hi All, I went through a full and final IVA a couple of years back. Shortly afterwards i wrote to all my creditors asking them to change my credit file to reflect the fact that the debt has been settled. Everyone did this apart from capital one who ignored the letter. I look at my credit files onlin...

I'm really not wanting to get into any kind of public dispute with Mel or anyone associated with her. I've clearly said that her bureau is not to blame in the slightest and i wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone. I came on here for advice and advice only. However, no i don't know what to do...

Just thought i'd give an update..... The reason this debt was missed off the final IVA is not the fault of my IVA practitioner or me. It's actually wescot's fault. In my original debt list, i included the 2 wescot debts but when the the IVA advice bureau chased wescot for settlement figures, they co...

I just want to clarify something....I wasn't coming here to criticize Melanie or put her service down. She and her team were exceptionally professional and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending them to anyone. I posted here as soon as i found out about the outstanding debt. I was in a panic and needed...

Hi All, I'm in huge panic and hoping somebody might be able to help. I went through the IVA process earlier in the year thanks to Melanie and the IVA advice bureau. I've just been looking through my credit file and noticed i have a fresh default on my record from wescot. I called them up and they ba...

Hi This always seems to be a problem. My view is that it is better just to leave your credit report alone and allow any negative recordings to fall off after six years. Even if you do manage to get the report updated your IVA will sit on your file until six years after you first started it. Regards...

Hi All, I have a problem with my credit report which i was hoping somebody could help me with. Several months ago i completed a lump sum IVA but i just checked my credit report and out of 9 companies, only 2 have marked my file as "settled". The rest still show the full outstanding amount. I realise...
