Hi there, I randomly applied for a credit card at the beginning of my IVA (don't know why, curiosity / stupidity probably) and was obviously declined. In my experience your IP won't know (as I doubt they're sitting there checking your credit file constantly). They'd only throw a fit if you actually ...

Well it's been some time since I replied to this post, but thought i would put an update on here.... I have as yet not been able to upgrade my Natwest Step Account to anything decent. But there has been a change at Natwest that means it's almost pointless me bothering to upgrade. They have recently ...

Hey. Thanks for the info. Sorry i didn't post again sooner, been internet unable, lol. I went to see the bank manager at natwest..... She said that the computer says i'm bankrupt (which is interesting seeing as I was avoiding that with an IVA). I did take my certificate with me, but unfortunately it...

I completed my IVA in March this year (which is great), but i'm struggling to get a current account. I've contacted all my creditors, as I'd seen a copy of my credit file and some of my debts still said 'outstanding'. They've assured me that they've now settled the accounts and let the credit refere...

One of my creditors said i should expect it to be sorted out by beginning of July. They said it can take 28 days for credit files to be updated from the time they confirm with the credit reference companies. So they said wait til 1st July and it should be all up to date.

Hey everybody, An update on my situation so far.... The current account i thought i had obtained was rejected at the last minute (gutting). I have received my credit file from Experian and Equifax and still see balances on my IVA accounts. I rang the companies dealing with these accounts and have to...

Didn't realise i'd have to sort the defaults out I have requested a copy of my credit file from Experian so i'll have a look at that one first.
I got a current account the other day for the first time since the iva started, so that's a good sign at least.

Hi everyone. Got my certificate of completion now. Just wondering, do I have to send it to the credit reference agencies?
Thanks

Just realised that my IVA started in Jan 2006 so it's actually been 3 years and not 2! How strange that I would lose a year. About time it finished then I reckon.

I certainly haven't counted my chickens just yet, but i'm also quite positive that it will all be fine as really the arrangement hasn't changed, and i'd be suprised if they didn't bite my arm off to get the money early. As I said, I shall keep you all updated as to the official outcome. Fingers cros...

Hey everyone, Big smile on my face this morning [:D] Just spoke to my IP re: settlement figure for the IVA and it's over £1000 less than I anticipated (due to supervisors fees being reduced), so have been told to send in a letter from my mum stating the details and they'll get the ball rolling. Payi...

I think they all tend to ask now anyway.
Looks like it'll probably be a joint mortgage when I get around to it, so that might help as his credit file is ideal for a mortgage.

Yeah it was Natwest as it happens. I guess i'm just worried that if i attempt to get a mortgage at any point I may be classed as having been bankrupt [:(] I'll cross that bridge when I come to it I guess.
