Initially I too was concerned at seeing a default every month. I waiteded a couple of months after the six years were up and then rechecked. All but 1 default had gone. After a six month fight, ultimately involving the Financial Ombundsman Service, (least I got £100 fine out of it too) the remaining...

We complained via the Financial Ombudsman. Follwed their guidelines. Cost a couple of stamps. And a few months. In the end my refund of £4K was just knocked off my balance, so I never actually saw any of it (and therefore wouldnt of had any money to pay the ambulance chasers!). Let my IP know what h...

I use Nationwide, and with their online banking I could open new savings accounts easily (though I did loose the money I started them with for around a week....so I started them with £10...and then transferred in any more) I found it useful to have accounts set up to handle my travel expenses (two a...

The only way my IVA effected my wife was that her income was asked for, in order to ensure we split our household expenses evenly. Income was 40%/60% so al lhousehold bills split 40%/60% too. She had managed to finance a car, finance a sofa and rent a house through an estate agent since my IVA start...

We rented succesfully last year, but my wife earned alot more than me so could technically cover the rent by herself, and it was just me in the IVA. We were up front with the agents so they were prepared for what they got back when they processed me and were easy going enough for it not to bother th...

I aimed to offer a similar dividend as per my original agreement. Some of my debts had changed (Lloyds had refunded me £4K, my wife had settled a joint debt fully of 2K). I took off the fees to date, factored in the cost of the variation meeting, and fees saved and suggested £6500 to my IP. They cam...

Ive recently finished my IVA early thanks to F&F funding from relatives We were married, and other than needing to show my wife's earning so show a fair split on household bills, it has had virtually no effect on her. Initially there was a big of aggro from Lloyds over a joint debt, which she settle...

Busy day....
Been in touch with another advisor, who seems also a bit more positive (and a bit more on the ball) and a bit more able to argue our cause.
Anyway will update when I know sum more.
Thinking I'm gonna vote for whoever is willing to actually lock up a few banking "professionals"
