If you are buying for same price or downsizing Your mortgage provider would probably let you just move the mortgage.

If you want to buy a more expensive property you would struggle getting extra funds.

I read somewhere that claims against First Plus for misselling of PPI were pretty near 100%, but you have to be very careful about which company you use to help reclaim these charges, I think Which magazine help people through their website.

They always seem to see the benefit of it when tagging it on to their mortgages and loans at vastly inflated premiums though

Just seen a client with 60k debts who was put on a DMP by CCCS two years ago. She will be paying £350 per month for next 12 years, she retires in 6.

On an IVA she would have paid around 33p in pound and be nearly half way through her plan.

Disgraceful advice !!

Personally, I think this sort of insurance should be an allowable expense in a DMP/IVA as it is in all parties best interests to have cover in place for any sickness/unemployment periods that could put the plan in jeopardy if no cover was taken out.

Also try your local Trading Standards office, I am sure there is some legislation regarding a 'cooling off' period for distance selling, don't know whether it applies to finance though.

The credit claims business has only really surfaced over the last 12 months, if you were to be brutally honest Skippy, if this was an option for you at the time would you have considered it ? I am in no way being judgemental but it is another solution into the pot, and if people choose to take this ...

Personally, I think the prostitute needs to take more care of her hotel, then maybe she would get more customers and would'nt need to be on the game

I understand what you are saying Kallis3, but I see this as a double sided coin. People could have said no to the loans in the first place, but were led into temptation by the banks insatiable appetite to lend money to all and sundry. These same people are now being led into temptation by the claims...

My opinion is that it is not really the borrower who is to blame, but the countless amount of ambulance chasers that have sprung up over the last 12 months dealing with these claims.

They are the ones who are making the money out of this not the people with the loans !!

Obviously a touchy subject with you David. To quote from your blog "I raise the debate that, with so many people hoping to get their debts written off through unenforceable claims, where exactly have our morals gone? Does accountability count for nothing or did some debtors never intend to pay the m...
