I found the person I spoke to day really helpful and polite. Sometimes it's not what they say but the way they say it can either help or make you feel completely worthless especially when you feel in such a vulnerable position. Debt is never a nice thing to talk about or deal with and I can't say I'...

I meant to say thanks to everyone who's given advise. it's been a great help. You all do a great job on this website. I would have given up along time ago if it hadn't been for this forum. I'd recommend it to anyone with a debt problem. it really makes you realise you're not alone and it's nothing t...

Hi
I've just had a call back from DFD as Declan promised. Thanks for all your help. It's all good news the distribution is being looked into at the moment and everything is as it should be with the IVA itself cos we are in surplus
Thanks again. I can rest easy again now [:)][:)][:)]

we had to do the same when we first entered into our IVA. We were told it showed the creditors we were serious about paying the debt back and made it easier to get approval when it came to the creditors meeting. We'd have got the money back if it hadn't been improved. Luckily it was approved and the...

Hi I've tried phoning DFD today with no success and I've emailed the I&E Team about our annual review and haven't had a reply from them. I'm know I'm probably worrying about nothing but with the fact nothing has been paid and we didn't have an annual review last year either, it's starting to play on...

Thanks for all your advise, it's put my mind at ease a little. I hope Declan can shed more light on why it hasn't been paid. 30k is a lot of money for us and we're proud of the fact our IVA has been going so well so far, I'd hate to hit a glitch at this stage

Hi we had our IVA transferred from Clear Start to Debt Free Direct last july and we are just going through our 3rd Annual Review. One thing I'm a little concerned about is that we've paid in over 30k into our IVA over 3 years and no dividend has been paid to our creditors yet. does anyone know if th...

One thing that has been bugging me since we entered into the IVA in 2006 is the issue of disposable income When you get a payrise, at the time you only have to pay half into the IVA. However when they complete the Annual Review they take it all from you, as the disposable income is recalculated. The...

Thanks, I'm sure we will be fine, it's just taken it's toll with us both working full time, my partners works nights so that hasn't helped. Trying to bring up two kids on a very tight budget and having the IVA. We get very little time or money to do anything as a family and with a joint income of ne...

After all the stress we've had over being in the IVA myself and my partner have decided to have a temporary separation, instead of breaking up completely, just to give each other space and time to sort ourselves out. We have two children and the last thing we want if for them to suffer for what's ha...

Thanks for all the advice. I've got a little time to sort things out before the annual review.
I can propose the variation doesn't mean they will agree to do it. Then maybe my IP will tell me what the best option is.

Thanks David. As they have to do the creditors report for the Annual Review anyway it would be a good time to get them to do that.
Do you think it would be a good idea to get the house properly valued before and a mortgage statement so I can backup my figures

I'm sure you'll be fine. Just be prepared for the fact they MAY say no at the first meeting. That doesn't mean that it wont be accepted. It just means they may want more. We started ours in the April and it wasn't accepted until July. Our Creditors said no about 3 times They just wanted a higher pay...
