Congratulations Kayleigh, hope everything works out on the iva front.
Debtsure sound very, very dodgy. Its a shame such companies exist and undermine all the good work that David, Melanie, Andy & co all do.

What area of the uk are you Matt? The company I last used several months ago was just a cash thing and required no deposit.
I am in Staffordshire Loneranger. From my search that seems to limit my choices.
Just checked my RBS card and its Solo, I know a lot of firms don't accept that.

I should add that it won't be me funding the car hire it will be a family member, but they can't drive so I will need to hire it or else there'll be more charges in getting me put on as an extra driver.

Well, my credit cards are all maxed out and are what are causing me to enter a DMP. I do have a business account one from RBS which I could maybe use. That would mean not closing my account with them just yet though as I had intended to. I started a business account with RBS last August and was told...

I'm not sure if this is in the relevant section or not, I apologise if it isn't. Will be going down the DMP route, have commenced payment etc and just waiting to hear back from creditors. My question is, my sister is getting married in August and I have some friends coming over for the wedding who w...

Hi and thanks all. David, I'm not sure you can answer this but here goes. Do Abacus deal with PPI refunds and complaints at all? I ask as I wrote to LloydsTSB regarding my loan and the fact I was charged a one off PPI of almost £2,000. I received a letter back stating they would knock almost all of ...

Hello, Some of you may remember I posted a while ago about my situation. Thanks for all the advice. I originally chose debt free direct to look after my affairs, however, during the process I switched providers to abacus financial. During this period I paid my first payment to abacus of £100, alongsi...

Also with regards to bankruptcy is it true I'd have to pay for a year? So any money I receive from the student loan company (it is split into three payments throughout the year) would go towards paying my debt back? That would leave me with very little to live on though if that money went straight i...

Hi Melanie, Yes I plan to pay more back once I graduate the only problem is that is two years away. However, over the summer I can work and pay off more than I can during term time. On a side note does anyone know if/how bankruptcy would affect a move to the States?I would imagine immigration wouldn...

Hello I need elp asap please. I am currently working with a company in the hope that I could enter an IVA. However, after hearing back from them today they said the IVA was unlikely to be accepted as I owe 92% of my debt to one creditor. They informed me that any debt over 75% and Lloyds were unlike...

Thanks once again all.
I'm relieved to hear that the keeping of the first payment is quite normal. If I pay the £100 though what is to say my creditors will accept the debt management plan?
I don't want to go down the bankruptcy route as I wish to emmigrate to the US once my degree has finished.
