Hi All I completed my iva by way of full and final settlement a couple of years ago and it was removed from my record in February this year. I am an accountant acting as director often on new companies and a client just had an application to HSBC refused (just for a basic bank account with no borrow...

Ok,thank you. Suprisingly enough I have already been accepted for a small credit card from Vanquis (When will they ever learn!). So it's just a case of paying that off every month to build up some history and waiting for the defaults to drop off. It's not as if I want any other credit at the moment....

Ginger, thank you for your response. My F&F was in September 2011 but my official completion was only last week. The default dates are all within a week of the IVA start so they are ok. Just I seem to read conflicting info on whether they should be marked as satisfied now the IVA is over? I'm aware ...

Matrix, It is interesting to read your struggles - thank you for keeping us updated. I'm also recently out of an IVA and starting the long process of doing what I can to clean up my files so I have all of this fun to come! I have checked my credit reports and although my IVA is showing as settled, m...

At least OP received a letter advising of the delays. I was aware of this issue previously but IP's were still closing cases. I didnt discover that it was delaying my completion until I chased my IP recently. Atomik - the IPA issued guidance in January that might shed some light on the issue: "Where...

I Received a call from my IP this morning further to yesterdays post. I am happy with their explanations and solutions.
There also appears to be an issue with emails at one end as we established emails had been sent on at least two occasions which I had not received.
Roll on October 14th!

I am around 3 years through a 6 year IVA and I was advised earlier this year that there was a possibility I was going to be made redundant. My girlfriend offered to help me financially with putting a F&F offer forward so I contacted my IP with a view to discussing this. I had to wait around 2 months...

Sorry if I have been misunderstood - I am not questioning if it is advisable to leave a balance on the card. But I read somewhere that having a credit card and paying it off in full every month doesnt improve your credit rating at all. That said, thinking about it logically you would still get the l...

Well its complicated....I was advised in January this year that I had been selected as a possible candidate for redundancy - it is fully accepted that my employer is just following protocol as I am one of two employees, and the other is the bosses son! We all get on very well so I think six months h...
