Thanks, Guys for your reassurance. My problem is my name has a really unusual spelling, so if you look me up, you do get the London Gazette thing loud and clear. But hey ho..

Thanks, Melanie. Disappointing to find out about. I know it's just a reality of life, but I'm really embarrassed by the IVA and haven't told anyone about it. Oh well, looks like it's out of my control.

Foggy thanks - I didn't realise that. I asked my IP whether I needed to do anything but was told they'd sort it. I'm on the case now though!

My experience is that they do indeed need some prodding... my IVA supervisor hasn't sent out my completion notice to any of the agencies so I'm now having to pay to register with them, check my records, then send them copies of the notice myself.

Oh sorry - should have said: The London Gazette isn't a newspaper. Its a kind of data repository that publishes information. It's got an insolvency section that says it 'disseminates knowledge of insolvency events to those who need to know; and facilitates the re-use of the data by others'. It's not...

Hi experts My IVA was arranged through Capital Insolvency Services, which itself went into admistration and was taken over by ClearDebt. The court case regarding that takeover is recorded in the London Gazette, and I, and CIS's other customers whose cases were transferred, are therefore listed by na...

Hi everyone It doesn't always just drop off, I'm afraid. I paid off my IVA last year, received my notice of completion, and the IVA's sixth anniversary was last month, however when I checked with Experian, my IP hadn't informed them that it was complete so it's still there. I now have to write to al...

Thanks, everyone :-) I applied to the Co-op and they approved it 'subject to a few formalities' that they're putting in the post. Can't believe I'm in a position to actually save now.

Hi, and thanks, so much you guys for this service - it is an enormous help :-) I'm almost at the end of my IVA - couldn't get a re-mortgage so I'm making a year's extra payments. The monthly payments are lower than they were last year and my pay's gone up, so I want to start saving. Do you know whic...

Oops sorry, David - I think I'd got baffled by your name and Andy Davie above. People abbreviate my name all the time and I don't like it either (I wasn't actually christened Cake Monster - It's a title I've won through sheer hard work [;)]). What would I need to do to seek creditors approval? Do yo...

Thanks, guys! Dave I'm not sure what you mean. I think the sum is fixed and 18k is probably about right in terms of the current value of my own equity (the value of the flat has gone up since the valuation in year 1, then dipped a bit but still higher than it was.) But I'm not in a position to pay £...

I'm in my fifth year with Synergi - they haven't exactly set the world alight but have been ok - minimal contact but, like others, that's fine by me. When I've needed to call them they've been helpful & human. The only grumble I have is that, like the earlier post, they have a habit of writing to yo...

Thank you both for such speedy replies - I'm very grateful. The proposal says that 'if the funds can not be paid as a single lump sum, at the discretion of the supervisor the arrangement can be extended to allow an equivalent sum to be paid by way of ongoing contributions for a period of up to twlev...
