Thanks for the response Melanie when I checked back in 2009 there was nothing in the SRA handbook now they have updated it in 2011 stating they will refuse any application from a person with an IvA

Hi I have been in my IVA since August 2009 have only got one more year left to go... However on the outset of my IVA I specifically asked if this would affect my ability to qualify as a solicitor and I was advised no as many solicitors use this as an alternative.
