I'm so pleased your employers had such a supportive attitude. That's one thing less to worry about.

I agree, people are so supportive on here. If a problem shared is a problem halved, with the amount of people sharing on here it should be reduced to a tiny fraction.

Good luck on the 8th.

Hi again. As I thought, your employer is not allowed to discrimnate against you and has to make adjustments to help you. All the info you need re DDA and DLA on the direct.gov.uk website: http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/DisabledPeople/Employmentsupport/YourEmploymentRights/DG_4001071 http://www.direct.g...

Hi Swardean Sorry to hear your news, it must have been a terrible shock for you and your family, but as you say you have probably had this all your life and have managed to lead a normal life. If you are still managing to do your job, what grounds would an employer have for dismissing you? That woul...

What a shame you have had a bad expeience. I have been with Scottish Power for gas and electric for 5 1/2 years, since we moved into this house and have had no problems with them at all (except they have NEVER read the meter!) After about 2 years in the property, we took meter readings and realised ...

After receiving letters from MBNA (and other creditors) threatening to issue a default notice and take court action, I notified them (and our other creditors) that we were considering an IVA. (That was before we went to Abacus/Cleardebt.) The phone calls increased dramatically - obviously had them w...

angelc, I think the 75% relates to those that vote on the day. So for instance if the total of votes related to £50,000 of the debt then the no vite of £14,500 would be 29%. Does this make sense? Yes, this makes perfect sense. I thought I had read that if creditors didn't vote, it was taken that th...

High ben70 and welcome to the forum. I beleive you have to have a steady income to enter into an IVA but a DMP may be an option. I'm afraid I can't help you with your other queries but I'm sure someone will be along with an answer for you shortly. It's best that you talk to an IP as until they know ...

Hi Jimd, welcome to the forum. You don't always have to remortgage to release the equity, it depends on your individual circumstances but if you can afford to remortgage, it may be the best option. Mortgage repayemnts are usually much cheaper than the payments on the debts you are clearing so you ar...
