The process should not be scary, but it is natural to feel a little apprehensive. With a good IP behind you, hopefully you will sail through and get the result that you deserve at the end. Best of luck.

Could you get your employer to spread the bonus payment over a few months, and thus benefit from the 10% allowance each month?

Creditor claims need to be received and agreed in the first year of the IVA, and not when it should have been long concluded. Ask your IP to send you copies of all the correspondence they have issued and received from creditors so that you can see for yourself why this has not happened correctly. It...

I think I have already answered this on the other post, but get your IP to send you a copy of the IVA proposal if you have mislaid your own copy.

If your IVA was proposed in accordance with the IVA Protocol, then the extension is automatic and as you say this was agreed at the time of the original creditors meeting. If you are in any doubt, do check with your own IP.

I think that you should take a realistic rent from your son - he would not be able to get a private rental for £100 per month, so why should he expect you to keep him for that. If he is still quite young, it is likely that he does not earn much, but by taking a realistic sum from him, you will be te...

Has your partner considered how this change of career might affect his IVA, Sarah? If he is left with no disposable income as a result of the reduction in income, you could make the payments for him, but you are certainly not obliged to if you do not wish to - the downside of course being that the I...

Whaaasaat! This cannot be Karen. In once did one which was targeted to last for 17 years, but failed within the first five. I cannot believe that you have been in an IVA for 16 years. Does your name appear on the Insolvency Register?

Good for them! They are one of the worst banks to deal with if you are in an IVA, so I definately applaud them for being supportive once an IVA has concluded. They get my gold star of the week award!!

Hi Charlie I guess I make two observations:- 1 Your IP would have known that you were due to reach retirement age halfway through the IVA, so what provision (if any) did they make for taking your pension income into account. Did the IVA proposal provide for an increase in payments from that time - w...

Thank you for that information Chelsea. I think that CAP refer all of their IVA work to GT, but there is nothing to stop anyone from choosing a firm of their own choice either.

They should have sent you a signed copy of the proposals when they issued these to creditors initially, so make sure you keep this one close to hand until the IVA concludes as you may need to refer to again.
