I had a tax issue once where I owed £400. I rang them and explained hardship due to IVA and they offered me a payment plan to pay off the owed tax monthly. Have to say they were very helpful and understanding so perhaps worth speaking to HMRC to see what options you have. I know mine was for less bu...

We had two agents round - told them both we were considering a fast move and just needed a fair accurate price. They took into account the structural work needed on the house and I just asked them to email me the quote along with their sales info which they were happy to do. No charges.

We made our last payment in October and I've certainly been changed by the IVA. Later this year we may need to take out a home improvement loan for serious house repairs that cannot wait for the time it would take for us to save it (electrics/structural). In the past I wouldn't have hesitated but no...

We were with DFD and they did an 'online' valuation which over valued our house and put us into equity when in reality the house was worth less and there was no equity. Thankfully DFD were great and happily accepted the 2 valuations we got local estate agents to give us and agreed that there was no ...

Yes as far as I know every account will show as default unless you are lucky and they forget you. Even small debts will show and cause credit file problems.

For what it's worth 'settled' debts will move to the closed section of your credit file and will remain there until 6 years is past. These may still cause problems until they drop off as 'settled' is not quite the same as 'paid' sometimes.

We had a couple of accounts on ours that had the wrong default dates. We wrote to the data controller for each one enclosing a copy of our CC and asking them to correct the default date to the day our IVA was approved. They both did this easily and within a couple of weeks and our credit file improv...

We were with DFD and made final payment in October. We didn't sign the new T&C's but instead DFD had us sign a deed of assignment to sing over PPI rights in future. We got our CC in November.

Ask DFD if a deed of assignment could speed things up for you too.

Your circumstances and debts sound very very similar to ours when we started. At the time they seemed unfixable. However after seeking advice we chose and IVA which was right for us and now we are debt free. It was tough going at times, but rest assured that there isn't a debt issue out there that c...

A "Deed of Assignment" is how DFD closed my IVA quickly. It effectively signed away all rights to any future PPI even after the certificate is issued so that DFD could close my IVA yet still ensure they could deal with PPI afterwards without needing anything from me. I don't think DFD are the only f...

That's ridiculous - a deed of assignment for any future PPI's could resolve this and allow your CC to be issued. May I ask, have you checked the wording of your IVA conditions and chairman's report as it may be stated in there that there is a limit on how long the IVA can be extended for this 'admin...

I upgraded with Vodafone more than once during my IVA without a problem. We never moved from Sky the whole time but I have heard of people moving so it is possible and I would heed Michael's advice.
