It is so annoying that Creditors make mistakes with the default dates. Seems to be very common mistake. I had an error from Marlin who bought our NRAM loan but Marlin were fast to correct the error and that has now gone completely from the file as it's older than 6 years. Hubbies report is still aff...

Just checked my Noddle credit report this morning as I had an email telling me my latest report was available ... and my score has gone from 1/5 to 4/5! The IVA is no longer showing, the incorrect defaults have gone [:)] Feels so good that all traces of the IVA are slowly but surely disappearing fro...

I know exactly how you feel Lesley as I admit I get a buzz out of spending sometimes. The IVA however has morphed me into a strange hybrid. One that still has the predisposition to spend but now merged with someone who feels guilt if I do! I think it is wise for me to remind myself of the pre IVA me...

Our IVA agreement did have the deminimus clause but it also had the other clause which clashed with it and so the more restrictive clause that said 'any' equity must be released applied to us. If we had even had £500 equity we would have had to pay it over or extend. Luckily (in an ironic sense) we ...

Hi Simon1883 We were with DFD and you can see what happened with us at valuation time here: http://www.iva.co.uk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=59652&whichpage=1 In the end it was simple although the initial desktop valuation was too high but this was easily rectified with a couple of real life estate age...

DFD were very hands off with us too (in a good way) which I liked as I preferred to not let the IVA be at the forefront of my mind all the time. They left us to our own devices in between reviews but were always helpful when we needed it. I'm sure there must be a reason for the home visits as there ...

I do feel home visits should be strictly optional. Mostly I feel this way as I have a friend who is in an IVA and who suffers with anxiety. Especially when dealing with people. A home visit for my friend would have been extremely stressful and upsetting so I would hope there is an optional element t...

It really is important to speak to a couple of good companies to see what advice you are given based on your personal circumstances.

There are a couple of very good firms who post on the forum and its important that if you choose a route you feel happy with it.

I would be interested to know on what grounds Payplan are going to fail this IVA? If you only did this over 6 months then your business (if it even became one) was in it's infancy and surely it would be fair to have declared it all at review time to see if anything was then owed? With any small busi...

Personally I would never use a firm that took upfront fees in this way. Especially when there are so many firms out there that do not charge in this way. By all means take the first iva payment as fees but for someone who is struggling, often robbing Peter to pay Paul, I find the notion of taking a ...

Our deed of assignment specifically referred to PPI and so would not cover any other ingeritance or windfall. Hence I was happy to sign and DFD clearly worded it purely to relate to PPI only.

We just signed a deed of assignment with DFD to end our IVA and I see nothing wrong with it - it merely stated that I assign any future PPI monies to the IVA. Since we do not have any PPI it was a no brainer and DFD got our IVA closed in super fast time after we signed it. Do you have particular rea...

Personally I would trust your instincts and if it doesn't feel right look around and get advice from other firms. There are many great firms that don't charge upfront fees and like foggy says, it's important that you feel happy in your choice as an Iva is a long time.
