There are many debt solutions and whilst and IVA is a great one for some it's not for all. As Lisa says there are others.

I would also advise talking to 2, 3 or even more companies until you find one you're happy to work with for the next few years on your journey to debt freedom.

Lisa is a forum expert and gives great advice. I hope you get to speak to your parents IP and try and get something sorted.

Always baffles me whether secured or unsecured, as to why I would take out a loan to get out of debt, when prior to my IVA, I had personally done this many times unsuccessfully.

What a terrible year and what a wonderful husband you are, putting your wife first and making those memories for your wife was paramount.

As Lisa says, can you ask for an extension, to clear the arrears rather than trying to increase payments, this may alleviate the situation for you. All the best.

Ask for a full breakdown of monies paid/claimed and see how their calculations are completed.
