Hi amanda and welcome,

An IVA is not the best solution for your debt problems. You have enough equity to pay your creditors back so i would suggest you remortgage and pay off your creditors.

Welcome to the forum prc, Once your IVA is concluded it will be taken off the insolvency register but will remain on your credit file for a total of six years from the date that it first started. It will have little effect on your ability to take a mortgage. Your IVA wont affect your friends credit ...

I believe that money will be considered as a winfall. I suggest you speak to your IP and find out if that money will be enough for a full & final.
