My bank updates DD's etc once a day but I do check to make sure nothing else has come out, such as cash withdrawals or debit card transactions - they show up straight away.

Having had a credit card cloned in the past and a parcel arriving at my home with my details that I hadn't ordered then I've been extra careful since then. I do keep a keen eye on my bank account so hopefully would be able to nip anything in the bud, plus I'm not on the full voters list so it's diff...

I don't see it as a money making scheme as, once the adoption goes through, you're on your own with only possibly child benefit and/or tax credits.

Fostering is another matter - you get paid a fair amount to foster a child so they could well see that as money making.

If you're living with her though she won't need to afford the living costs will she as you will be helping towards them. If you do a joint tenancy then her rating may be affected unless she files a notice of disassociation from your debts with all three credit agencies but there is no saying that yo...

It's unlikely that they have notified of the IVA, more likely that they are doing what HSBC and First Direct do and are trawling the Insolvency Register.

That said, at least they're not closing the accounts!

If you read the posts on here you will see that there is a long queue of very frustrated GT clients - if you email Karol though she may be able to give you more information about your own case.

Hi and welcome to the forum. Unfortunately this is a problem for all GT clients at the moment due to the PPI issue and before that the VAT issue. You can contact Karol from GT who posts on the forum, her contact details can be found under the 'Ask Experts a Question' link on the left hand side of th...

Hi and welcome from me as well. It is a daunting experience but one which can help you be debt free. Do think carefully about this - are you happy with the company you are using? Is there anything in the proposal you don't understand? Are the payments affordable? You should have had all options expl...

Hi and welcome,

Hopefully it won't be an issue but do agree that you should speak to your local adoption agency.

Good luck with your application.

Hi and welcome to the forum, well done for getting almost to the end.

As regards renting, is it possible for your fiance to take the tenancy out in her sole name at the moment? The last thing you need at the moment is anything joint as it will have an impact on her credit rating.

Thanks Foggy!

I don't think it is unbiased lem - people are always pointed towards iva.com as the advice is free and it is up to them who they choose and which solution they choose.
