At the moment you would have to be discharged for at least 1 full year. The deposit as Melanie said would be quite a large part of the overall value of the property.Tony

Secured loans generally do not operate on the same basis as mortgage lending although the definition of a mortgage is a secured loan on a property. As Melanie quite rightly says the critical element will be the loan to value on the property.
When you are coming to the end of your present deal make a point of speaking to your present provider unless you have a low ltv and then it may be worth looking about.
