Thanks Lisa. I know it's far from over but I feel a hell of a lot calmer than I did this time last month when I was imagining bailiffs coming in and taking our cat... Time will tell...

It's on 15th December. Not long to go! Feeling oddly at peace about it all - no doubt the nerves will kick in big time on the 14th! But, what will be, will be and we're confident that we've done all we can and put our best foot (or should that be feet?!) forward. Just wanted to say thank you to ever...

My husband is just in the process of getting an IVA sorted. His bank (First Direct) shut his account last month when he went over his overdraft so he's been using our joint account with Natwest (which was empty and dormant until then) to deposit his pay chequue and make his payments while we've been...

My husband and I are in a similar situation... He's looking into an IVA and this site has been a life and sanity saver... All I can say is talk to a few companies... My suggestions would be Michael Peoples, Andy Davie and Melanie Giles - all on this forum. They've all been wonderful and really helpf...

Hi Melanie The IP having looked at all his expenses etc said that N Rock was the biggest creditor and wouldn't accept what amounted to about 16p in the £... My issue is that there are 2 N Rock loans.. one is my husband's personal loan, the other is a joint loan in both our names that we took out wit...

My husband has just been advised that BR would be a better option as his IVA is likely to be rejected... Has anyone else been in that situation? We have a joint mortgage, but it's interest only and given the current market, when we had it valued at the weekend the estate agent said we could put it o...

It's only been this past month that my husband hasn't made the payments on cards and loans... up until then he was managing by going over his overdraft, getting charged for that of course and then taking out money on cards that he'd cleared off when we remortgaged... It was only when his bank shut h...

Do you think it's worth seeing if an IVA is accepted first? It's my husband who's in trouble financially so ultimately up to him to choose the best option but from what I've seen BR isn't like I thought it was... I had visions of being put in the stocks and having rotten veg chucked at you by all an...

Yes, I'm a big fan of having a what if strategy... Don't want to go the BR route but just in case the IVA isn't accepted... I've seen quite a few success stories on here though so that's helped.

yes, my husband has spoken to a couple of others now and everyone has been so lovely it's hard to make a choice. Have been getting all the paperwork together and I reckon we'll be ready to go early next week. Had estate agent round to value the flat today and his highest possible figure, which he ad...

Well, the estate agent came round to day full of the joys of spring... loved the flat, or so he said but even his top price would have us in negative equity at this point in time...hurrah! Never thought I'd celebrate that. Guess that means if the IVA doesn't come off and my husband has to file for b...

Sudden bee in my bonnet about bailiffs... maybe I've watched too much bad tv... My husband is in the process of applying for an IVA... Should I be worried that someone is going to try and knock down the door to take the tv and sofa? Does that really happen?

We have a joint loan that was originally linked to our mortgage with Northern Rock, but when we remortgaged a couple of years back at the end of our fixed period we only kept on the non secured loan which provide...
