yes, I thought of that this morning when I was speaking to him as he was in full smarmy estate agent mode and saying how he knows the block of flats and how lovely they are etc... Don't want him to come back and offer £250k... I said we were looking to move out of London (didn't want to mention forc...

Thanks Michael. My husband spoke to you yesterday actually so we're trying to weight it all up and make the right decision. I think he's thinking BR, while I'm thinking IVA but that's after his interview with CCCS who initialy proposed paying back £440 a month but yesterday increased that to £510 a ...

Thank you Michael - did I mention that you are my hero! Maths was never my strong point and the whole way we got the mortgage was a little over my head -those heady days when you could basically get 5 times your joint salary and 100% mortgage... Fortunately we only took half what N Rock originally o...

My husband is looking into an IVA or bankruptcy and I'm trying to get my head around how both options might affect our joint mortgage and joint loan that we took out with the mortgage. At the solvent partner (at the moment anyway) I cover most of the mortgage repayment and all of the loan, but on pa...

This morning my husband was discussing our joint gym membership. My husband needs to go as he has 2 slipped discs and had an op a couple of years ago - was actually the start of downward debt spiral but that's another story. The gym really helps and keeps him mobile and able to drive to and from wor...

Thanks Michael. I would think we have very little, maybe even no equity in the flat. We had a 100% mortgage and payments are interest only. The flat is only one bedroom and modest, nothing special. I'm not even that concerned about the possibility of remortgaging in 5 years time - if the market has ...

Thank you for all the responses. My husband had his first full telephone interview this morning which has thrown up a few more questions. Initially they said that he had £450 spare a month to put towards his monthly payments... Today they're asking for £110 more having taking my income and outgoings...

Hi, I'm the 'wife in question'... I think we're going to try for a second or third opinion on this as while I'd happily contribute to my husband's IVA if I had the money, I'm a bit perplexed after today's phone conversation which is requiring an additional £110 a month from my husband which can only...

If an IVA is refused, what's the next step? Is bankruptcy the only option? My husband is trying for an IVA. I'm worried about our home if he has to go bankrupt. We're on an interest only 100% mortgage and at the moment we're more than likely in negative equity or very near to it, but if he does go b...
