It has been important here, to establish the raw experiences of us all in this predicament so I make a good choice, rather than go to banking blind and get rock backs.

What is the name of your basic account Louisa, there are so many accounts I see on their site, but none say "basic account"? Thanks,

G

Thanks Louisa... I have located an ANat in my Town, I will more likely try that one... Do you need to go in branch to open it or can you open it ok online without credit checking?

Maybe between us all, we could create a list on here, of the banks that are frienldy to us so that it is easy to compare the options, what do you think? Maybe if we can all input to one single post that this forum can have slotted in for easy reference... Maybe needs advice from the masters of this site?

Gordon.

Hi Dots
I have tried before to get info from banks regarding their stance but it is near impossible to get a "standard" answer.Policy seems to change every so often and can vary from branch to internet.
It seems that the Nationwide,Co-op and Abbey are the most reliable and receptive to people with poor credit or who are actually in an IVA.

Andy, do you know what Nationwide's stance is now with people in IVA's? I know they no longer accept bankrupts, but I didn't think to ask about IVAs.

Hi
I think that they will still accept people in IVAs but be sure to go into the branch and ask for the BASIC flex account as they seem to have two types.

I'd have to recommend Nationwide.

They're receptive and will help out as much as possible.

Arghhhhh!!!!!!!!!
If only I'd said NO!
