Thank you for sharing that very private story with us J. David is an inspiration to lots of people on this forum, and to learn that he has also been a victim of serious illness will give much encouragement to Ida and her hubby.
Regards, Melanie Giles, Insolvency Practitioner

That is very kind of you Melanie - the one and only thing that got on top of him were debts - my fault but he will not have it. You and Tina along with Jan sorted it all - that is why we shall always be in the debt of the three of you. He has reprimanded me (very gently) about my post!! J

Ida, thinking of you too. It must be so hard yet you carry on with such strength. Praying that good news will come sooner rather than later. x

Thinking of you all as you travel this hard road - but stay positive and you will reach the end of the road where life will become easier and rosier for you all.

Stay strong and positive

Hi Everyone Image

I just wanted to say my thoughts and prayers are with you Ida and your dear husband, children and family. You WILL get through this. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. Cliches I know but so true. Though I have never been in a situation like yours, the nearest I have felt was my two disabled children were thought to both have a genetic condition called McCune Albright Syndrome, which causes tumours all over the body. Both children had tests at the beginning of the year - the test results take three months to come back! It is such a rare disorder. Thankfully both children have been given the all clear for now - but are still being watched closely by the hospital. The anguish I felt in that time was so much I literally had to mentally put it in a box and tie a ribbon around it so I could not go there. For you dear Ida going through all that you are doing, hope is the most precious thing - keeps us going each day when the world seems so dark. The sun will shine again - and it will shine on you all brilliantly.

Take Care x

What a fantastic post Poppy. At times we can feel so alone in the world and that no one else could understand whats going on in our heads, but thats just not true. People do understand and people have been through similar things, and together, maybe just maybe we can help each other out.

Hiya all xxxxxxxxxxx

Sincere hopes you are all well.

As always heartfelt thanks for you all, just being you and getting me this far.

I have no news re IVA, lady at payplan totally lovely, nothing too much trouble for her but she can only put the case to the creditors, had a bit of a turn, she told me they can and probably would take the house if there was any equity, my first reaction was a few miliseconds before I call the papers, and then I thought well, I can't afford the mortgage anyway, they'd be doing me a favour, but in the end there is no equity and so the hosue is relatively safe re creditors.

Ok so my R and his cancer, forstly the gullet is inoerable, radiotherapy and chemotherapy.

He has a second cancer, not secondary, niot a spread one an cancer in his jaw (I know I have posted this before, I am probably getting my own mind in place as much as anything!)

They have one biopsy there, it's cancer and he can't open his poor mouth because of it (not too bad because he can't swallow anyway) but they took another because they want more detailed DNA or some such info on it, no results yet.

We have hit a kind of normality.........cancer dictated but is as normal as we can make it.

Anyway, as always, thank you all.

No real news, just the usual hope and uncertainty.

Hello Ida, nice to hear from you.

I'm sure your house will be ok - as you say, it's in negative equity so even if you had to go bankrupt you wouldn't lose it.

I can't understand why Payplan and the creditors are dragging their heels. I can't see them wanting you to go bankrupt and I do hope it gets sorted soon.

I hope that R gets on well with his radio and chemotherapy. I hope they can do something about his jaw as well.

You do sound more positive though. I have everything crossed that it all works out.

Hiya Jan xxxxxxxxxx

Are you well?

Payplan have the papers inplace, we had to get a letter describing the exact condition from the hospital, we had the initial one, then they found the second cancer so we needed to go back to start again.
Payplan told us it would be slow at best, not to expect anything in less than months.

Honestly he is so so ill, the creditors want to take his home from under him.............they won't really, but well.........inhumanity eh?

Hi Ida it's good to hear from you.

Like Jan says I hope Payplan get your IVA sorted for you quickly as you and R don't need any extra stress.

Lots of love to you both, and you know where I am if you want a chat xxx
