Dave does most of the cooking as I'm useless!

Have a look on the Sainsburys website as they have their 'feed your family for less than a fiver' recipes on there and some of them are quite nice. I like the bacon pasta.

Ang, please can you send me the recipe for the burgers?

Burgers there is nothing to them, just finely ground mince an onion really finely chopped, a beaten egg I used one for 2lb of mince, salt and pepper, you could spice them up with a bit of chlli powder or garlic chopped if you like , but I dont even like pepper. Just mix it all together, I use my hands to do it its easier, then just shape into burgers big or as little as you want, I would use a bit of flour to shape them and you can use a pastry cutter if you want them perfect shaped, or you get really messy and they stick to everything, cook on a medium heat. You can do the same with lamb mince as well I add mint to that. I find they need a fair bit of salt or can be a bit plain. I did them on saturday for a barby which we couldnt have because of the rain so I cooked inside. If you are adventurous you can make skewers or make lettle balls and put mozarella int the middle.
Have a go and I hope you like them. If freezing put some greaseproof between each one of. them or you will end up with a big lump .

Good luck

No I didnt, just mix it all really well. They didnt fall apart and at least you know whats in them. I just smushed it all together, good fun for the kids too. I put mine in the fridge for a bit to set and cool down again.

Try again, hope it works.

Birmingham hotels. Yes I have emailed Melanie wih some details we went for a scout on sunday I have found 2 which may be suitable and have the availability. They are on the Hagley road which is where unfortunately TGI fridays burned down this morning. It wont affect them as they are slightly further down the road. I am still nosing around for any more, and Lily is going to help as well. One is the quality hotel and the other the strathallan, both easy to get to by car or a short taxi from the station, so we will have to see what Melanie thinks now.

It really is difficult as the xmas do's start early, my works one was booked weeks ago and they are fully bookerd now. Thats the trouble the hotels put the prices up.
Anyway thats where we are at the moment, I would have it here but couldnt fit you all in.

I can understand where all of you are coming from, i live on my own and have a little four legged friend to feed but still find it difficult to eat healthly if you go by the government guidelines of 5 pieces of fruit and veg a day etc, a carton of milk and a loaf of bread virtually wipe up 10% of my weekly food budget without having thought about meals and cat food. Aldi and the pound shop have become my best friends recently thats for sure.
Om shanti, namesté, good luck to all who are embarking on the IVA journey, it isn't always an easy one but the outcome is the best.

IVA COMPLETED August 2012, received Completion certificate 18.4.13.
