I don't know of any basic accounts that you have to pay for, other than ones like Think Banking.
I kept my Barclays account open even though Barclaycard were a creditor and do still use it. It's not my main one but does come in handy as I've got a cheque book which I need sometimes.

our F&F IVA was accepted last year, we 'll stay on the CO OP basic bank account now,it's working well for us-it means we keep a close eye on it.
hope my hubby keeps up with all these new "good habits",things aren't easy but we feel like we're doing well. the IVA has been life changing for us[:)][:)]
