Should I write to my creditors

I'm in the process of cancelling my direct debits a few days before each one is due as I'm looking towards either a Full & Final Settlement IVA or Bankruptcy. Should I however, write to each creditor around the same time to explain my situation? Would this be advantagous to me in any way?
