I'd use mine more if the food looked more appetising - casseroles just don't do it for me, and pale, insipid looking meat isn't very appealing!

Skippy, brown the meat first in a non-stick pan, then put it in the slow cooker.

I brown off sausages before putting into a casserole - could not eat them otherwise!

I brown everything off before putting it into my slow cooker, it is an ideal way of making cheaper cuts of meat taste wonderful,
I do find you have to season well and use more herbs and spices than you normally would, it is trial and error if you dont put enough in next time add more.

I'll let Dave know - when I say I use the slow cooker, what I really mean is I issue instructions and Dave uses it!

I did moroccan lamb stew last year and it was the nicest thing I have made in the slow cooker.

Stews and casseroles never look brilliant but they are great to come home to on a dark winters night!!

Just put some cooked off chicken breasts,chopped into large chunks into the slow cooker with leeks and onions and 2 packets of colemans chicken casserole mix and it smells like Jamie Oliver has been in my kitchen!!!!

Just lifted the lid for the 1st time in 3 hours and the whole house smells lurvely so if you can all make it up to mine it will be served at 5-30pm!!

May be enough for a mouthful each!!
