I really hope that we are accepted. They may think that £25K is too much[:I]

Thankfully we have yet to have a phonecall or letter, but I can guarantee that they will start this month. Just as well that hubbie now has a job.

Did anyone change their phone number? I was considering changing the land line number, but thought that may lead them to my place of work.

Couple of questions coming up.

1: I work for one of the companies within the Virgin Group. One of my CCs is a Virgin on. Oh heavens. What do you think will happen. Cant find anything in my T's & C's at work, but need to look more thoroughly. Is it likely that they will contact my work even though its a seperate company?

2: If during the 5 year IVA plan, I have a cash windfall, say inheritance, scratchcard win etc! Does the IVA continue or does it end now that I have the funds to pay my creditors?

Ta!

Hi
The Virgin card will be funded by a high st bank so the fact that you work for a Virgin company will not be a problem. No one will contact your work.
If you are in an IVA and receive a windfall then all of it will be due to be paid into your IVA[upto a maximum of your total original debt,IP fees and satutory interest, less payments made]
Regards

Thank you Andy.
Yes the card is via MBNA, Phew!

I'm so panicked, I just want this to end. Gotta go now as crying. Maybe some red wine will help[:o)]

I certainly am a fast worker!

Talking of which............
I sent a breakdown to Melanie via email, this afternoon. On average, how long is it before they contact you to arrange a meeting? Bills are begining to mount!

Now wheres the corkscrew?

Someone just panicked me.
A friend said that I am unlikely to be considered for and IVA because the debt is relatively new (last 18 months). They said it looks like I have deliberately spent money I couldnt pay back, just to get an IVA, therefore a court order will be served!

Thats not true! I borrowed in good faith, and the guilt I am feeling towards my creditors who were good enough to lend us the money is second to none.
Also, you just have to see that I have had 2 babies in the last 2 years AND my husband seems to be collecting P45s! FOUR P45s in 18 months, because work just seems to dry up (building trade).
Oh dear, I'm panicking again now as I've not long ordered things on the catalogue. How stupid of me? How could I have been so dumb?

The wine wont do. I'm reaching for the Magners now the babes are in bed![;)]

That is nonsense. Creditors are not generally too worried about the timing of the debt, so long as you can justify the reasons for it. I would stick to professionals when it comes to the advice front - we deal with this sort of thing every day.

Thank you Melanie.
I'm such a worry wort.

Re: Above post.[:(!]
That friend has really annoyed me[:(!]

He's making it sound like an IVA just writes the debt off. I've explained that I am going to pay it back, all if I can, I just need more time as I'm drowning right now!

Now to drown in the Magners!

Just comparing notes and feelings. I have been on the forum for just a few weeks but the advice and support is overwhelming. Just remember all of us here are in the same boat. Some of us including me owe a lot more than you do. No one has the right to judge. I have even started telling friends and family about my situation and have been surprised at how everybody has taken it.

Interesting though I have one very good friend (really is a good friend) who said she didn't think I should tell anybody else, as if it was embarassing. I have never been embarrassed just disappointed with life in that it has come to this at my age.

So I will keep being open and honest and sharing my thoughts.
Elizabeth

Thank you ladies.

Can you believe that I have just confided in an old friend and she is going through exactly what I am? So we may be seeing her here soon.

I'm not going to be ashamed either. I'll pay back as much as I can, thats better than nothing.
