I wouldn't argue with my dog if he did answer back... he's bigger than me!

I went to newquay last august with the new girlf (the old one ran out when the money did) but we just threw a tent up on the a camp site near fistral bay & spent a week just chatting in the sunshine & watching the surf festival, it was cheap & really relaxing!
its a marathon not a sprint!

I'm out of my mind but please leave a message!

Oh please carry on.
My nana has an old caravan in Herne Bay. We will be spending most of the summer down there with fish n chips and some cold cider! Its not Florida, but we'll be happy and stress free.

Its on the Kent coast.
Thats if we get an IVA though!
Must not run before I can walk. Feel so much better just talking about it.
This feels like a fresh start for us. I hope we can sort this out.
Hubbie finally has a job with a big firm, so wont be getting laid off through lack of work. I'm returning to work........
May sound crazy, but I'm actually looking forward to being tight with money! If you aint got it, you cant spend it!
I will be living on fresh air and love!

I am so mean with money now, I drive my husband crazy, I account for every penny and he thinks I am too strict, but he would just spend and think of the consequences later! Food shopping is always a battleground cos I won't put all the expensive stuff in the trolley[:D]

Hi Drowning Mummy....this site is a godsend...lots of friendly people with great advice. From what I can gather you really need to get a few pointers re IVA companies..I'm with Budsworth & Co..and I've no complaints with them. An IVA is a mixture of good and bad...good that you get to sort your debt out but the bad is the paying it and telling people about it. Not everyone needs to know...I've only told boyfriend, immediate family and a good friend. It's a big step but it's a positive one. With having a young family you don't need to getting stressed about £££. These are precious times with your family.

I'm a midwife and I always think people would look down on me if they all knew I had an IVA. I met my gorgeous boyfriend 6 months ago. I NEVER envisaged having a boyfriend during my IVA as who wants a girl friend thats skint even tho I earn a good salary. However he's helping me SOOOOOOO much...I love him to bits!!

There is a solution to your problems..I was in debt in the region of £100k....and I've paid 26 payments...34 to go. Planning my future with my new man..it's not easy...we can't afford the house we want as we need a 20% deposit..but I just see it as that one was not meant to be and there will be other houses.

It's the people in our lives that matter...and I REALLY mean that...I lost my dad to suicide in Oct 2007...so life is full or ups and downs but we get thru it.

Good luck..try and enjoy your weekend.

I have an idea for my food shopping. I'm going to shop online at Tecso, buying all the basics. My list will be saved and each week I just hit the order button. That way I wont break my budget and be tempted with the Tesco Finest range or things that just get thrown away!

Trouble with that is there is a £5 delivery charge. I tried Tesco once but they left off some things that they had charged me for.

I just go to Morrisons now, its very near my house and really cheap

Thanks Jasp,
That was lovely of you to share. I do share your ethos too. Our darling son, died during a traumatic labour when I was full term. I went on to have 2 precious, precious daughters and pinch myself everyday.
I pray that I get through this and my creditors agree.

Oh I thought delivery was free!
Oh well, I'll just have to discipline myself some more then and behave in the ailses.

I'm sure you will get through this...thanks for sharing your experiences with us. I do not know what it is like to lose a son or daughter but have spent many hours with mums and dads who have and I would like to think that the words and care I gave them have helped them along the way. Puts all this into perspective doesn't it.

Like I said before enjoy your family...I miss my Dad every single day...I have all the feelings of guilt, anger and shame...but when your already dealing with debt you wonder how much more you can take but with very good family and friends..and of course my wonderful bf Mark things are more bearable.

I'm sure your son is never far from your thoughts...keep positive for all your children. I have to keep positve..I have a 14yr old son and his father has never paid a penny in maintenance and that was one reason why I became a midwife....you see some wonderful things can come out of awful circumstances.

The forum is a fab place to just...chat!! My bf looks after his children on a Saturday nite...suppose it save's us both £££ so this is my nite to chill out on my own and catch up with the outside world. Would prefer to be at his side having fun but I everyone needs their space!!

Oh Tesco internet thing...used to replace stuff and send near to end of date stuff....even tho I asked for stuff to have a long date on it....my delivery guy used to give me vouchers for free delivery...you could always see what they say...as they say you don't get anything in world if you don't ask for it!!

yeah think I'll give it a miss. I like to finger my food before I buy it anyway lol!

Anyway, stoopid question alert!
Because we are at breaking point (hence findin this site), for the first time we cant afford to pay our debts this month. We have prioritised and the mortgage and insurances will be paid. Although I've not yet spoken to anyone from Melanies team yet (hopefully monday), should I cancel them now? If I dont then they will come out and the more important ones wont. Help!

Hi again

If you have firmly decided that you need to do something positive about dealing with your debt, I would hold out until you take professinal advice before making any rash decisions, but clearly prioritise the important things such as keeping the roof above your head, food on the table and your family secure.

All will become a little clearer next week when you know what your options are.
Regards, Melanie Giles, Insolvency Practitioner
