We found the iva a pretty easy transition as we had been in a dmp for 7 months previous-feel a lot more secure knowing none of the creditors can chase us now!!Payment only went up 30 quid a month
I too have a freezer full of reduced stuff-Jesus couldn't compete with us on the loaves and fish front!!!
For holidays still got the trusty old campervan-we live 30 minutes from the Lakes so Friday after school we generally take off to wherever we fancy(weather permitting).
Grizedale forest is only a few quid and my lad always makes friends there-park up in a field and get a weeekend full of R and R with the dogs.
Often we just grab a bunch of his friends and stay on the coast-park up just off the road and stay for free !!
Getting used to just having the simple things in life can feel difficult at first-mainly because of the *got to have it yesterday* mentality of todays society. Knowing the difference between wanting something and needing something is vital to us getting through the iva-I think we are slowly learning the difference !!

You're lucky living so close to the Lakes. I'm in the Midlands so a bit stuffed.
I do prefer holidays abroad though so if I can't go there then I don't go anywhere.

Rather you than me! I have to have all my mod cons!
We went to Egypt two years ago for a week courtesy of daughter and her insurance policy.
It was fantastic! Last year we went nowhere and I was just happy to have a break from work.

The dogs would be fine (we have three, plus two guide dogs every so often!) but not the kids!
I wouldn't sleep under the stars either without a roof between me and them!

I do! I spent many an (un)happy hour totally roughing it camping as a police cadet and I hated it!
I've been under canvas in France, and hated it! I've done static caravans in France with toilets and loved it - mainly because the weather was fantastic!
If you get the weather in this country there is nowhere to beat it, but you just can't guarantee it.
It's abroad or nothing for us now and the more exotic the better!
