Having just had a blazing row with my bank about their change in mortgage policy I found out something really unfair. It would seem that if they knew that you had completed a IVA and offered you a mortgage but not yet completed it they will now withdraw the offer. So leaving the poor soles with out a mortgage offer. I know that we all owe/owed the banks money but they are not going to win any best friend prizes for the next few years.

That is a bit naughty!

Let's hope that all banks don't operate that way.

Was there a need to disclose the previous IVA within the mortgage application process? How did they find out if you had an IVA in the first place?

My bank up till last year were one of the kinder lenders. If your credit check showed a IVA they could let it go if they thought that you were a safe risk. Now they wont touch anyone with a IVA.

Ah - you have suffered from a change of policy half way through your application. I am afraid that this has caught a lot of people out.

Was Tony able to suggest anything to you?

Thanks for that. I am sure given time Tony will find something its just the uncertainty at the moment. We did a F&F so that we could get on with our lives and I know we our luckier then many but it would be nice to be able to put it behind us once and for all.
