I must admit that Barclays were very good with us when we banked with them.

They allow you a small amount of leeway if you accidentally go overdrawn, and due to a DD going out which I wasn't expecting (one of the quarterly ones which I had forgotten about), it went slightly over and they charged us £30. I spoke to them, explained what had happened and they refunded the charges with no argument.

HI Guy's

I have just changed to Think and I have found the staff great very happy to help. Had one glitch but it was sorted very quickly and had a follow up call to check I was happy with the way it was dealt with. (sadly can't use the Co-Op as they are one of my creditors) But would recommend Think Banking as you have 2 accounts one for Bills and a card account money any money not needed for bills. So what you have on your Maestro card is yours no more thinking has that DD or DO been paid and therefore can I spend that much. Also has on line banking and text messages.

I think it is £12.50 - or at least it was when someone last posted about it on the forum. I think Andy Davie has the details of this account if you contact him David.

You're right Melanie - £12.50 a month.

It also costs £25 to set up, and an additional card for your spouse is an extra £5 a month.

I'm surprised HSBC have left your account open. First Direct gave me a month to find another bank in 2007 - I'd been with them for almost 15 years and that counted for nothing.

To say I was disgusted was an understatement, but my account now runs better than a lot of other people they still count as customers, I suspect - only I'm with the Co-Op !!!
There's light at the end of the tunnel - it's just that sometimes the tunnel seems so long.

Barclays kept our account open, but hubby didn't have them as a creditor and it was only Barclaycard with me. Never had an overdraft with them.

I shall leave it and if they don't close it, I shall revert back to that at the end of the IVA as it is a full account.
