Afternoon all, well after a very long and anxious wait we finally found out that our FF has been accepted, we are now just drawing up the cheque to send to them and thats it!
Our IVA is finished well finished paying them i know the IVA will still run on our names for the full 5½ yrs and then however long till our credit gets back to normal but to be honest i dont care if it never gets back to normal (well for mortgage reasons only i do)
But yeah thats that, so what happens now? when the full term of the IVA is done do we get anything to say we are complete? do we have to do anything contact people?
thank you Melanie yes we are both over the moon that this has been completed. For us a very harsh lesson learnt and i think this was the only way to learn.
We have set a DD up to pay my mum a set amount each month for me i have to follow this through to complete my journey (hate using that word)
I am happy to be debt free and cetainly wont be going down that route again.
Great news Roisin but you do not seem to realise that your IVA is over. Grant Thornton who took over from Accuma will divide the monies in the pot among creditors and issue you with a certificate to say that you have complied and are now discharged from your liabilities to the creditors. Your name will be removed from the IVA register and you will have no more contact with GT. The IVA does not continue to run but your credit file will be impaired until six years after the original date of the defaults.
Oh thank you Michael i must have got confused i thought it ran along side my credit file for the full term.
Well we started the IVA back in 2006 so a few more years yet, but to be honest i dont care as i wont be applying for credit again. Our only concern as it has always been was the mortgage but we will like previous years overcome this.
I am happy with our pay as you go credit card!
I must say though i have only been dealing with GT for a few months, they have been outstanding along with the crew at Accuma (my only fault with Accuma was paperwork going missing)
Thank you all on this forum too i have recommend this site to many.
