I've got a pre-paid card with Unique and I'm having a few problems with it. The card was initially £9.95 plus £5.95 for the first month. There are 2 'plans', one of which you pay £5.95 per month and can use the card as many times as you like, and the other where you pay £1.70 per transaction. When you get the card it is set up to the first plan, so I called them (at 10p per minute) to get them to change it so that I pay as I use it. I was told on the phone that this had been done and they would refund me the £5.95.

I checked my account yesterday and they haven't changed it, and they've debited me another £5.95! Rather than pay 10p per minute I have written them a letter so I'll have to wait and see. Let's just say so far I'm not impressed and wish I hadn't bothered!

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is the present - a gift to make the most of.

I just got home after my creditors meeting where my IVA was approved, and guess what I found on the doormat? A speeding ticket. Not only that, I was driving an ancient diesel Land Rover, and I didn't think it even did 47 mph. (In a 40 zone).

In these situations you have to work hard to retain your sense of humour. Hopefully one of my customers will pay me before the fine is due. Right now I have about £2.50 in change.

I think all IVA's/ Bankruptcies should include an amount to purchase a bicycle and bicycle rack for the car. Then you can drive and park on the park n ride for free, take out the alternative vehicle and cycle past all those motorists waiting for their card to be accepted. It will get you fit as well, so you will have the luxury of instant gym without the payment. Hows that.
