So now we have split up and the iva was in joint names I will only be paying off just my debt which is 4k the rest is his debt that he has to pay I've got 2 children i work part time have all the bills in the house to still pay I've applied for housing benefit council tax reduction. what do you guys think will happen with my debt they are sending me a expenditure form this week they talked about a dmp or they might look into getting rid of my iva what's my best solution if there is no money left

Glad it's getting sorted out for you. I would wait and see what your IP tells you. As you only have a small amount of debt and your income is significantly lowered then your creditors may agree to accept payments made to date as clearing the debt. It's worth trying to get them to accept this as your IVA will show on your credit rating for 6 years from the start of your IVA and by starting a DMP you may be paying the debts for some time.

In your situation, Emily, my IP got the creditors to agree to close on payments made to date. Of course, a lot will depend upon the amounts involved, but certainly worth discussing with your IP.

Apart from the huge relief from making payments it means me and little foggy get to start our new lives together with a clean sheet (which is going to stay that way ! ).
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
