Hello all,

I'm new to this forum and just wanted to say hello!

I had first chat with Melanie's office today in regards to starting an IVA. Hope it will go ok...

Thanks

Welcome to the forum!! Good choice to go with!

Keep posting to let us know how things are going and good luck!! It does feel like a rocky road when setting it up but it's well worth it!

Thanks for a warm welcome!

I originally started a DMP with CCCS but I quickly realised it's not going to work for me at all...
So decided to search forums and found this one and found Melanie's details. So will see how it goes...

Thanks

Welcome from me too. You have chosen an excellent IP whose team will always be there for you. The next few weeks will be really hard, but worth the effort, stay strong...

Hi,

You said few weeks... How long does it usually take to set the whole thing up? From your experience of course...

It usually takes between 6 and 8 weeks to set up an IVA unless you have anything complicated.

Hi,

Quick update, budget done and all documents sent...

Now just waiting for the progress...

My monthly payment was calculated to the rate of £0.68 per £1 and my question is it worth to lower it a little bit to have some more cash in budget?

Thanks

You need to put in your actual spend, don't undercut to increase the dividend. Nor should you inflate your spend to reduce the dividend, the creditors follow guidelines and will not agree to anything they see as unrealistic.

Don't forget things like prescriptions, dentist, pets costs etc.

Quite agree. Be honest about your expenditure. If it looks too high you may well have to produce receipts to prove it.

You'll be fine - not had a rejection on here for a long, long time and your IP would not be proposing this if they didn't think it would be accepted.
