hi i wonder if anyone still recieves statements since their iva was accepted? my iva was passed on the 28th april but like a few stories ive read on here im still recieving lots and lots of calls.the most are from mercers who are collectors for barclaycard who call relentlessly and leave messages on my works phone which even my area manager has picked up! im still recieving statements from the credit card companies and these show interest still going on and charges.also last week i recieved a letter from one of my credit card companies to say they have investigated my working status and are now going to seek an attatchments order on my wage.i dont even feel that stressed about it all now .i just feel that after 7 months of applying for the iva and trying to stay strong that i am finally worn down.ive complained to my iva company but have not got anywhere at all.on the plus side my mum has just given me a massive piece of chocolate cake and cream which was free !!xx

Hi
You are as safe as houses regarding your debts, they are all included in your IVA and no one can claim attatchment of earnings. It is a case of one dept not knowing what the other is doing but will sort itself out.You need to ask your IP to contact the firms that are contacting you at work as this is clearly unacceptable

thanks for that i have asked them but they wont do it as they say the calls and letters are normal and it can take months for them to stop.i guess its just a case of riding out.also i think the fact that my iva company is not making a payment to my creditors until ive made 8 months of payments probably delays the calls stopping.

It shouldn't make any difference Nicola. Once they are told that you are in an IVA, then all calls, letters etc should cease. Ok, it may take a few weeks for the details to filter down, but once you have told them, that should stop them.

I was plagued with calls from Mercers, but I never answered them until the day my IVA was agreed - 21st April, but once I explained things to them they were fine and I have not been bothered since.

As Andy says, they cannot do anything now as you are protected by your IVA. I would suggest that you either don't answer the phone to them, or just tell them that you are in an IVA, they shouldn't be calling anymore and tell them you will report them for harrassment. Make sure you get a name as well. I would also refer them to your IP. Then I'd put the phone down before entering into anymore conversation with them.

They're just trying to get you to pay money, which you can't do as it could fail your IVA.

Hi Nicola,
Welcome to the family!!
Don't worry the letters and calls will stop (I'm suprised they haven't as yet) Unfortunately as the others have said the right hand often doesn't tell the left one what's going on.....
I send all letters from Mercres & Eversheds (think that's spelt wrong)and any others to my IVA company and they deal with them.
Stay strong we're all here behind you,
Hugs,
