Hi captain r and welcome to the forum

Only so long as you do not have any debt with that particular bank, and you are not banking with HSBC who habitually close down accounts for people who are subject to IVAs.

When i wne in to an IVA, My bank was part of the IVA. So i had to open a new bank accout which i did with Abbey.

I could only get a card cash account, this is what i got from it.

Take cash out, -cash machines only
Internet banking
Standing orders and direct debits.

They said they would review it after 12 months

About a month ago they did, but the their computer system said no to an upgrade to the account.

But when they did it for a new account it said yes

So know i have a debt card, but obvisouly no overdraft.

What i did with both was i went in to branch and made appointments and spoke to some one in person - i dont know why but i think this helps.

What amazed me was no one knew what an IVA was, so i had to explain it.

I would suggest CO-OP Cashminder which will offer you an Visa Electron card or Natwest Step Account which will offer you a SOLO card.
