This time 6 years ago we were in cash convertors trying to sell anything and everything just to get enough money to do a food shop (we couldn’t raise money on eBay as our co-op bank account was still being processed ) Fast forward to 09/11/12 and we’re sat in the Premier Inn, Albert Dock, Liverpool enjoying a couple of beers having just watched The Killers live. Earlier in the day we’d done a little Christmas shopping and had a good (perhaps too good!!) meal in The Red Hot Buffet, Liverpool One. But best of all, not one penny of credit used.

At times an IVA can be a dark, scary and confusing place to be, but eventually your life will swing back to normality (with less financial stress and worry!)

Oh, the completion certificate is nearly here – just a tiny niggle that’s being sorted by Judith at DFD.

Just felt I had to post as it was my 6 year anniversary yesterday and I clearly remember the "OMG what have I done" feeling at the start of the IVA [:)]

great post tigger

Judith is superb, although as i have previously posted, me thinks her in tray overfloweth !! Judith always comes back to you as she promises, occasionally a day later than she may have promised, but this in my mind is purely workload related and no other reason.

My 6 year anniversary was in July, so i know exactly how you feel and when i watch the doom and gloom on TV re the economy, i know my doom and gloom was 6-7 years ago and it will be nice this christmas to have some spare cash.

to all other forum members with some way to go, keep strong, remember everyone has blips and the odd desperate month, but you will soon get to the end
Last payment made April 2012
Certificate received 1st Nov 2012

Judith certainly does seem to be helping out a lot of our posters. I wonder if DFD would let her join the forum in the absence of Declan?

That would be an excellent idea Melanie, sadly i don't think it will become reality as Declan came in for a lot of wrath on here because of the problems over at DFD and how he coped with it was very professional, i personally think there was more to Declan not being able to post so i don't think Judith will be posting on here sadly, plus i think she is snowed under at the moment too.

Great posting Tigger,it is a lovely feeling being able to do those things without worrying when the credit card bill drops on the door mat. My partner and i often go to Liverpool and we too have discovered the Red Hot buffet, i have been twice now with my partner and you do have to becareful that you don't fill up too much, those virgin mojitos are something else too.

Learning to be frugal can be quite challanging but enjoyable too, i have certainly found this as instead of driving into Liverpool i get a save a way ticket for £4.70, can go on any train within merseyside and also get a ferryride thrown in too. You couldn't park in the in city centre for that amount of money and then there is the cost of petrol, so train everytime now, even going into manchester costs only £7.20.

Thanks everyone [:)] I suppose I've got a couple of further landmarks to reach i.e. name dropping off the insolvency register and repairing my credit score; but at least I've crossed the finish line and got a medal.

Strange feeling knowing that it's completely over: feels like I've been booted out of "the club" [:D]
