I started my IVA journey in February 2015 and I'm still getting nasty letters from one or two creditors, they are threatening to send my details to debut collectors and I will loose this and loose that
I have spoken to my IP (Harrington Brooks) today and they were not best pleased, I have been told that you may get some of these for a few more weeks yet but have told me not to worry and nothing can be taken, glad they had time to listen and give good advise and help down the phone line
Some times it takes time for the message to get through.
IVA started March 2011, Completed March 2016 and certificate issued 11 days after final payment. It was not always easy but then some of the best decisions aren't.
At the end of the day, Clanger, you are protected and if the couple of creditors want to waste time, effort and money with bluff and bluster, let them enjoy it.

Hi not worth stressing over ! They can't do anything at all , my IVA was accepted last month and whlst most creditors have acknowledged the IVa barclays ( as usual !) keep sending letters and phoning me ! Told 3 different people about Iva so far and still they send letters ! Start of obnoxious then are all apologetic and say no more contact !! So I'm sure they will fizzle out soon !!
I had letters for a few months and even had one from a debt collection agency which my debt had been 'sold to' once I'd sorted that one I had no more, just the standard one they send informing you of your debt. I just pop them in my file and ignore them now

As has been posted above, you are now protected by your IVA and creditors are legally bound by it.
The letters will stop, I was still getting threatening letters and phone calls from Barclaycard and their debt collection agency a good few months into my IVA.
Send any letters you receive to your IVA provider and they should contact any offending creditors for you.

We were getting letters and call over 4 months after ours went through. They do stop eventually but for now just be calm knowing they cannot take anything or you to court as you are protected by the IVA.
If life is what you make it, I must have been in a strange mood when I made mine
Im no expert but I understand that your creditor is not allowed to call your IVA - but your IVA are alwoed to call your creditors? Am I right? if so maybe you should call your I.P and ask them to call the persons that are calling you? I know its un-nerving getting calls about monies.
Basically, Radish, any contact either way has to be through your IP. It does take a while for the fact that an IVA is in place to filter through to various departments --- often these calls are from external call centres. Annoying in the extreme, but they can do no actual harm.

Hopefully once the IVA news filters through to all departments (can take a while) the communications will cease. Hubby had to get rather shirty with one creditor (barclaycard) and then they never did phone again after our IVA.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
