Well i have decided today is the day to come clean to my husband.
I have put everything down on paper, Debts, payments being made, who i owe + normal dd for electric gas ect. so he can see a break down.

I am now sat waitting for him to get up so i can tell him. I know now i can't keep this a secret from him anymore.
Hopefully it will be support i get from him, but now i am prepared to deal with however he reacts.
Ruby

Ruby good luck for today. You've got it all there in black and white be honest and upfront and although he may be a little shocked if he knows nothing and may be quiet awhile (that's how I deal with things) time will make everything ok. On the other hand he may even have an idea you have problems and is waiting for you to tell him. He will be pleased you're sharing this I'm sure as there is nothing worse than secrets. Ruby please let us know how you get on as we'll all be thinking of you. {{hug}} for moving in the right direction. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Hi Ruby

I hope all went well today and you managed to have an honest chat with your husband.
Facing up to the fact you have a debt problem and need help is the hardest step of the whole process.
Melanie's team are fantastic and will give you nothing but honest, professional advice it seems you have been lacking in so far with the company you have been dealing with.
Good luck and thinking of you

Be positive & look after yourself, there are more important things in life than debts....

Hi All
thanks for you support.
Well i told my husband, Yes we had shouting, silence lots of crying by both of us. Then best of all he said we'll get through this together on condition there are no more secrets. He made me phone my parents and tell them as he said every thing has to be in the open.

He was so great (i realy feel like i don't deserve him)
After hours of us both crying he just said it's Sunday we cant do anything today so lets go for a drive and try and forget things today and start to sort everything out tomorrow together. So we went for a drive stopped and walked along the river bank found a nice little pub and sat and talked more than we have in years.
i feel so more positive today it's now 7.30am and i am waiting for Melanies team to arrive at work so that i can call them and get the ball rolling.

I just want to say thanks again for all your support & i hope everyone can have a husband or wife as great as mine.
I will let you know how i get on.
Thanks again
Ruby

Well done. A problem shared is a problem halved and all that.
At least now he knows it will give you the rest of the strength you need to get this sorted out.

Great stuff Ruby ... you are really making some progress now [:)]

It was interesting to hear what you say about your husband's response Ruby.

Having been single for many years I have dealt with my debt on my own. Today, romantically at the crematorium, a very nice charismatic Funeral Director made a bit of a pass at me ... I think!!! (it all happens at the crematorium let me tell you!!). It was a all a bit novel and took me a while to realise what was happening ... and then I found myself closing down as I know that until I get my debt situation sorted out I am not a viable option for a relationship. Reflecting on this driving home it made me realise that I have probably put up the drawbridge for a number of years in terms of relationships and it brought it home to me just what "price" I have paid, not just financial, in terms of my debt situation.

I know I am rambling here and don't really quite know what I'm trying to say ... but wondered whether anyone had any thoughts?
