Hi all,

Nice to find this place of people going through the same craziness. I have found the last couple of months very stressful indeed, more so that I could have even imagined. However I have my creditors meeting finally coming up on Monday 16th so please send positive thoughts.

My debt rose through the nightmare of loans, credit cards and some bad luck (with cars particularly which is essential for getting to work) and bad luck in trusting people who took advantage. Anyway, total debt is £32k and IVA is for 33p in the pound. Creditors are MBNA, MINT, NatWest, Egg and Direct Line.

It is a tough feeling awaiting a day of decision and nerves and stress levels are high, just trying to hang in there and hope for a positive result to try and start rebuilding.

Best of luck to anyone else who is going through this, it's hellishly hard but hope we can all find something good for the future.

Hi Alexc,
three years ago I was in the same position as you I would like to say its all been easy but it has not. But I am just £5,700.00 away from finishing my Iva, plus i have a feeling of paying back my creditors more than If I had gone bankrupt.
Keep going Iam not saying its easy but its worth it
kindly
Matt

Thanks kallis3,
Somebody asked me the other day what was the best day of my life I replied the worst day of my life, which is the meeting of my creditors and initially getting my iva turned down.
But in the written word I can not convey the honesty that day returned to my thinking, no it does not mean my life is a bed of roses, actually this last year of my IVA has been my hardest and I sometimes still feel I still could fail, but at the end of the day I feel I have done the right thing for my self and my creditors. And if that sounds old fashioned I do not care
Kindly
Matt

Thanks Matt, and congratulations to you, I really do want to pay back as much as I can, I hate the feeling of being in debt/owing to anyone but I have had to try to get past that. I just want to get as much as is possible paid back in an amicable agreement and move on, hopefully this will happen.

Congrat's once again though Matt and keep up the good work!
