Hi
Not normal but it can happen.
Just make sure that your IP is aware. You have nothing to worry about as your debts are now covered by your IVA.
It takes a while for info about your IVA to filter down to the right dept

left hand/right hand as different departments are involved. Expect it to take up to a month for the dust to settle.

With regards to Telephone calls, letters et al, is anyone aware of a form letter template we can use to send off to creditors that still insist on chasing. Reason I ask is I'm crap at letter writing and tend to ramble on and on and on and on and ,,,,,,,,,,[:D][:D]

Hey Ray, maybe the experts know of a letter but the creditors will probably ignore them anyway! Viki X

Oh viki... ever the optimist! ha ha

The best plan is use any left over from your IVA to buy a really big dog, then invite them round!
its a marathon not a sprint!

I'm out of my mind but please leave a message!

I know from experience they don't read the letters you send to them! They get as far as IVA and then out come their standard letters! [}:)]

Grrrrrrr annoying!

The bailiffs are what terrify me. This will be our first month of missing payments and we are due to talk to Melanies team on monday. What can I expect? Will the bailiffs turn up? How long from first bill missed until they start preparing for a CCJ?

Hi Drowning mommmy
i doubt that you will be getting bayliffs at your door if this is the first payment youve missed, think they will just start by telephoning you and sending their standards letters out. But just remember they do it to scare you into paying!
I was in the same situation as you when i first went into the IVA (hadnt missed any payments)and thats all i got was letters some demandng money and LOTS of phone calls but it never got to bayliffs or CCJ's once id started the ball rolling with VA it went through pretty quick (although at the time it seemed like forever)and when i got the phonecalls i just said i was getting finanical advice about the situation and they would here from me in due course.
60 down 0 to go!!!!
IVA completed :)

Hey drowning-mummy, I can't answer your question but just thought I'd let you know that this will be my third month that I haven't paid my creditors, going into my forth. I am exactly like you, worried that someone is going to turn up. It may be a while until my IVA can be finalised but I tell them the situation when they phone. Each time they have noted everything down and then said that they will phone again in 14 days, then it's the same conversation.

I haven't yet been told that my debt has been passed to a debt collector or anyone will be coming round, so I'm sure you'll be fine. You seem to be getting it all sorted, that is the main thing. If this is the first month you have missed and you are contacting Melanie next week then don't worry.

Thinking of you, Viki X

I received a letter on Friday (summons) for a CCJ. Not nice being on this side of the fence - I'm usually isuing them (albeit for a different reason). [:I]

I think I could handle somebody turning up, it's the legal side I don't like.

I'm sure we will all be fine we are all with Melanie! [8D]

The creditor I'm having most troule with is AMEX. Just incase you were wondering. X
