chilipepper, yes that's right but it usually works out as a % of your debt ie., 60p to the £1 owed. It all depends on your circumstances as to how much is proposed.
It's nice to be back......

yeah, some have been accepted at 18p/£, it all depends on circumstances and whether the creditors agree

I am totally dedicated to paying back my debts but I agree its for 5 years so should not be a punishment. 5 years is along time and I have to be honest I thought I ould be less stressed in an IVA but I am still anxious and constantly orried about rising bills etc and if I can afford them. I don't need to go on holiday every year or anything loike that but I ould love a little money to maybe go out for a couple of drinks ith friends etc. I don't think its too much. If you are in an IVA, you should be alloed to have a life.

i would think you have a strong case for a variation as the creditors must be delighted with the dividend they are going to recieve if they thought you were going to fail and go the BR route i am sure they would agree to lower the payments and still get a 90p dividend!!!!

going by your response pbeck and the dividend she is struggling to pay giving nearly 100p in the pound to the creditors is to be commended you need a reality check its obvious she is trying her best and her allowances have been set to low she wants to pay back as much as possible and is doing so but you have got to survive also!!!!

i have thought of a new reality show for C4 get pbeck to live on her allowances for 6 months!!!!!!!i know we got into the mess and deserve to suffer a little in paying back as much as possible but come on!!!

This is some expectation of things nowadays though that reflects the reasons for how many of us got into debt in the first place.

I say this reflecting on some discussions I've had recently with bereaved families reminiscing their memories of childhood. I remember how with both my parents working we used to have an annual holiday (the first week of August when the Dockyard closed down) in a caravan about ten miles from where we lived! We soooo looked forward to that holiday ... my mum would get a cardboard box in about February and buy a tin of food a week extra to go in ... those tins of fruit cocktail were sooo tempting!

Simple things, but my did we look forward to them. Our expectations are so much higher nowadays.
