I also used a whole of the market broker and they managed to get us a mortgage offer from Halifax, even though they were one of my creditors. It's a shame if they have changed their policy, hope they don't change their mind on my offer before the house is built!

Hopefully they can't do that Kelly?

I really hope not Lesley, we have exchanged contracts now so just waiting to complete when it's finished, fingers crossed they won't have a rethink

We have the offer in writing but until the house is built we can change our mind so I am guessing they are allowed to do the same if they wanted. We have paid Halifax a valuation fee. Sorry that might not answer your question, still very new to all this mortgage stuff.

I hope the offer stands Kelly, a new house sounds ideal. I'd love one x
