SUCCESS STORY, with some handy info!

A little more handy info...

So my Vanquish credit card came through, with a limit of £500. This had an immediate impact on my experian credit report. It was 'Fair' with a score of 849. It is now 'Excellent', with a score of 968. The maximum score is 999.

I also called my creditors to make sure things were getting sorted. Good job I did as Santander had made a mistake on their system. I used to have a bank account with them, with an overdraft. They told me that they final money they got through for the settlement wasn't enough! There was an outstanding balance of over £50. This didn't make sense. After some investigation, it turned out their system had been adding fees at some point over the 3 years. Once they realised this, they agreed to correct it and update the credit agencies to show a zero balance.

So a word of caution...keep an eye on your reports and if anything looks amiss, ring up the creditors. Mistakes happen but are easily rectified. I just told them as far as I was concerned, this IVA settlement is final so they needed to find out why there's a difference and 'write-off' the amount.
