I was supposed to be off work this week but because another manager wanted the same week and I was stupid enough to admit that I wasn't going anywhere, I was forced to cancel it, even though I booked it first. Hope it rains for the rest of the week!!!!

Bitter? Moi??!!

Yep been in that situation before davram, booked my holiday at work 6 months in advance and they still wanted me to give it up because 'I was not going anywhere' and someone else wanted it off at the last minute.

Well I learn't my lesson for next time, and if asked again I'm off to Skeggy for 2 weeks as far as they are concerned lol

Hi everyone

The heating being off is great for reducing bills, but it is wise to power up the boiler every now and then during the summer months otherwise you might have a problem with it when you turn it on come October. Rather ironic to saved all that money on heating only to pay it back to a plumber for a big repair bill!

Trust me this is the voice of experience speaking!

It's been sunny here all day, but i's now overcast and I think we could be in for a storm this evening.

ladyh you are lucky having a tan - I just become a lobster if I sit out in the sun![:)].

inaiva, I think that is terrible that you were forced to cancel leave. They would have a mutiny on their hands in my office if they tried that one!

Foggy up here but very clammy, Loubylou10 how are you paying 129.00 per month I live in a 4 bedroom we pay 40 for elec 50 for gas (winter months) per month with EDF I am trying to do the carbon foot print, but son leaves everything on, I'm forever switching them off!! On a water meter that seems average at 23 per month. Hope you sort EON out.

We're with Atlantic and pay £170 for both gas and electricity. We have a four bed house.
