Tell them that when they are playing the music it means that they are OUT of ice cream!!!!(only works on very young children)
Discharged today the 8th feb 2012. View is much brighter now.

Was about to say that plastic!

How about buying some icecream for the freezer and some cornets and make your own, only if they are really good though.

Funny enough myself and a friend was talking about this yesterday!! He said when he was really young, and his mum couldnt afford it, she told him it was the dustbin man!! again think this only works on young children, and if they are inside the house at the time! [:D]

I live on a main road so fortunately the ice cream van doesn't stop near me! I can get away with buying cheaper versions from the supermarket. Thank god. X

Get the children to help make ice lollies and as Kirsty said buy ice cream and cornets and make your own adding sprinkles etc, for older children agree with them they can have an ice cream from the van one or two days a week as a treat if they have been good.

make getting an ice-cream a treat or reward. I know it's hard when they ask, but they can run very expensive. Luckily, the ice-cream van only comes to our street around 3 times a week or I'd be plagued with my little girl.....
It's nice to be back......

I bought a litre of ice cream in Iceland on Saturday for 99p - it goes a long way when all the kids in the street are playing in the back garden!
